New award-winning handheld computer from Bluebird Inc

Bluebird Inc has now launched their award-winning handheld computer, the Pidion EF500, on the Norwegian market. Earlier this year, the company was awarded the Red Dot Design Award for its new handheld computer. Lexit Group acts as Bluebird’s Nordic partner.

The EF500 is delivered with multi OS support, i.e. Windows 10 IOT Mobile Enterprise and Android 5.1. The EF500 has a powerful energy-saving processor, superb scanning capabilities and is prepared for Push-To-Talk. It is also sealed so that it is water resistant with an IP67 rating.

The Pidion EF500 is a continuation of the Pidion BM180, which was well-received on the market. NSB chose Pidion for the second time in a row when they chose the BM180 for their new ticket solution.

The EF500 has a 5” touchscreen with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 and full-touch technology – i.e. it works using a finger, industrial gloves or a stylus, even when the screen is wet. The screen is designed so that it can be read in sunlight and can handle harsh weather conditions without problems. There are 2 versions of the EF500. The EF500R is made for rough use both indoors and outdoors, and is shockproof to withstand a drop of up to 2.4 metres. The Standard EF500 is designed to withstand a drop of 1.5 metres onto concrete.

Lexit Group has extensive experience and expertise in many of Bluebird’s products. Lexit Group has its own authorised repair centre in Kløfta, and repairs Pidion devices for the Scandinavian market.

Bluebird is one of five global strategic partners for Microsoft, and introduced Windows terminals very early on.
